WHO’s AGENDA DOES IT SERVE FOR WESTERN MAINSTREAM MEDIA LIKE,

INTRODUCTION:
The world is no stranger to the biased and fabricated news that dominates the mainstream media channels of the West. Al Jazeera, The BBC, The Guardian News, CNN, and The Washington Post, are just some of the examples of institutions that have been accused of demonizing Eritrea through their biased and fabricated news reporting.
The question is, who benefits from this continued demonization of one of Africa’s most promising nations? Why are these media channels bent on propagating disinformation campaigns to the point of outright lies when discussing Eritrea?
To Be or Not to Be 🇪🇷👇: Fact Check.
The story of Eritrea is one of resilience and determination. It is a story of a young nation that has overcome numerous obstacles to emerge as a beacon of hope for the African continent. Eritrea has become a home for those who wish to explore their freedom, and it fosters an environment of inclusivity and diversity.
However, the Western mainstream media appears to have a different narrative regarding Eritrea. For years now, Al Jazeera, The BBC, The Guardian News, CNN, and The Washington Post have consistently reported on Eritrea in a negative light, highlighting its alleged human rights abuses, lack of press freedom and other governance concerns.
But, why this consistent and biased narrative? Why does the mainstream media wish to further pin Eritrea as an isolated and dangerous nation?
Upon closer inspection, it appears that this media obsession with demonizing Eritrea is a symptom of a larger problem. Many of these media channels have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo. Their continued coverage of Eritrea serves to fill the voids in their news cycle, providing stories that are sensational and newsworthy.
Moreover, Eritrea continues to remain a thorn in the side of Western governments who have historically maintained control over Africa’s resources. As one of the few countries to have resisted colonization during the colonial era, Eritrea’s journey to independence has been a challenging one. Western powers have had to come to terms with its newly acquired autonomy, and this has not been an easy pill to swallow.
CONCLUSION:
It’s time to recognize the bias and fabrications of Western mainstream media when it comes to covering Eritrea. Eritrea is a country that deserves more than the negative and one-sided coverage it has been receiving from these institutions. It’s essential to explore reasonable and factual information to understand the political, economic, and social issues facing the nation and not fall victims to propaganda.
If we are to break down the walls of misinformation that have been erected, we must take a more nuanced approach when discussing Eritrea. A more open discussion of its challenges and progress can provide better insight into the country’s future and how we can all help uplift its people and nation truly.
